프로필사진 찍는 팁 2018|3 Lessons Learned On My First Fashion Photography Shoot

Hello,
It’s Heewon :)

Back in 2017,
I had a fashion photography shoot for the first time with a professional photographer as well with a hair and makeup professional.
It was only for one of my dream list that I had dreamed of.
When I got to the studio on shooting day,
I realized It won't be easy.
So why not share all the lessons that I have learned on my first shoot?

1. The result will not be the same as you expect.

I do believe that I prepared a lot for the shooting
such as posing, outfit, and concept.
However, the result wasn't the same that I expected. Or is this concept not my thing?
Why is
my hand on a weird place? Where am I looking at?
So, check your work as many as possible in the middle of shooting.
Then, you will be getting to know how you are going to move next.

2. Keep Moving. Don't expect for a photographer to take the best moments of you.

Of course, a professional photographer can take great photos on his/her way.
Nevertheless, you don't want to see photos of you posing like a robot.
The more you keep moving, the more you will get natural photos.
The photographer will capture your move just the way you are.
Be yourself, and pictures never lie to you.
Make your decisive moments by yourself.

3. Be bold. Try anything that your heart whispers you.

When I realized that the shooting went quite long but I wasn't satisfied with any results,
The photographer told me that "This will be your last shooting. Do whatever you want."
I was a little shocked that I hadn't had any photos that look something new.
To finish this shooting without any regrets, I made myself a promise to be bold this time.
I took half of my jacket off and turned around with eyes-closing
Just wanted to see how I will look like when I close my eyes.
When I heard the photographer's positive feedbacks from my challenge,
I got confident and focused on me hearing my voice inside.

This shooting happened a year ago. After this, I haven't back to any professional studios.
But I definitely want to take another version of myself.
I'm still not being myself 100%,
but I will keep up my journey to put me on first than others' thoughts.
